The Geracis' recenetly organized helphollyhelp.com. Helphollyhelp.com is a website designed to help nonprofit organizations raise money and awareness in their local community. Mr. and Mrs. Geraci helped raise over $200,000 in just under a year, while completing seven grant challenges.
Helphollyhelp.com kicked off their first challenge, the Rockford Rescue Mission Challenge, in late September. Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci promised to match, dollar-for-dollar, the first $10,000 raised. Folks donated everything from $5 – $500. The challenge raised over $11,000 while raising awareness to homelessness and hunger in Rockford.
When the first challenge finished, Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci tried something a little different. Instead of a full month’s challenge, Holly and Peter extended a one-night only challenge to Covenant Enabling Residences of Illinois (CER). Similar to the last challenge, Holly and Peter would match up to $10,000 of public donations. The Challenge was a tremendous success. CER raised more than $48,000 in one night. With Mr. and Mrs. Geraci’s matching contribution, of $10,000, CER was able to receive $58,000.
The year’s final challenge, the Alano Club of Lahaina challenge, was a success from the start. In the first twenty-four hours, the Alano Club of Lahaina was nearly half-way to $10,000. Due to the terrific success, Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci agreed to increase the grant challenge amount to $15,000. The Alano Club of Lahaina was able to raise more than $20,000 by the end of the grant challenge period. In total, the Alano Club of Lahaina received more than $35,000.
